What Are Dental Veneers?
Dental veneers are thin, durable shells that can help conceal minor cosmetic imperfections. They’re affixed directly to the teeth and can be customized to match your smile for a natural appearance. Receiving veneers is a safe, minimally-invasive procedure that can be completed in as few as two visits to our Studio City or Los Angeles office.
Benefits of Dental Veneers
Veneers come with several advantages that make them a popular cosmetic treatment. Some of these benefits include:
- Quick Procedure: Receiving veneers is a quick and minimally invasive procedure that can be completed in just two visits to our Studio City or Los Angeles office.
- Durability: Veneers are made to withstand your daily activities, don’t require additional steps in your oral care routine, and can last between 10 and 30 years with proper care.
- Stain-Resistant: Unlike natural teeth, veneers won’t lose their whiteness over time, making them a great option for patients with tooth discoloration.
- Natural Appearance: Dr. Lavi can customize your veneers to match the shape, size, and color of your surrounding teeth for a seamless appearance.

The Dental Veneers Process
Initial Consultation and First Appointment
At your first appointment, you’ll meet with Dr. Lavi for a consultation. He’ll determine if veneers are the right smile solution for you, and discuss your other treatment options if necessary. If you agree on veneers as your treatment, he can begin the process.
Before the procedure, Dr. Lavi will administer a local anesthetic to ensure you don’t feel any pain. He’ll then prepare your teeth by removing a small portion of the targeted teeth so your veneers will look natural when they’re attached. To begin the creation of your veneers, Dr. Lavi will take an impression of your teeth to send to a dental laboratory.
Second Appointment
Once your veneers have been created, you’ll return to our Studio City or Los Angeles office. Dr. Lavi will make sure your veneers fit correctly, then securely place them on your teeth. After making any necessary adjustments, you’re ready to show off your restored smile!
Frequently Asked Questions
On average, veneers can last between 10 and 30 years before needing to be replaced. To ensure your veneers remain strong for years to come, it’s essential to practice good oral hygiene. This includes brushing and flossing twice a day, as well as rinsing between meals.
It’s also important to schedule biannual appointments to our Studio City or Los Angeles office for regular cleanings and exams. This will help keep both your veneers and oral health in good condition.
Not at all! Before beginning the procedure, Dr. Lavi will administer a local anesthetic so you won’t feel a thing. A member of our dental team will monitor you throughout your procedure to ensure you’re comfortable.
You may experience slight discomfort once the numbness fades, but you can manage this pain with over-the-counter pain medications. It’s also normal to take time to get accustomed to your veneers. It typically takes most patients about two weeks to get used to their veneers.
If your veneer sustains damage or falls off, don’t attempt to fix or reattach it on your own. This may lead to further complications and set your treatment back significantly. Instead, place the veneer in a small plastic bag and bring it to your appointment.
Call our Studio City office at (818) 980-8472 or our Los Angeles office at (213) 623-2212 right away to schedule an appointment. Dr. Lavi will be able to repair or replace your veneer.
